Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the 31st season of the Nutcracker Ballet, a Feast with a Hero fundraiser at Slot World, Small Business Saturday throughout Carson City and Carson Valley, photos with Santa, a Telegraph Square sign dedication, Polar Express train rides at the V&T Railroad and more!

Foundation Raffling Off UNR vs. UNLV Gift Package

Marching band debuts one of largest ensembles at Saturday’s Wolf Pack football game

From 120 members in 2012 to 180 in 2014, the University of Nevada, Reno has seen its marching band, the “Pride of the Sierra,” grow in numbers, support and pride.

Kicking off during Saturday’s Wolf Pack football game against Southern Utah, Greater Nevada Credit Union continues its fundraising campaign, “It’s Time to Support the Band.”

Titus, Amodei wager community service, Fremont Cannon trophy on Rebels, Wolf Pack game

Nevada House Representatives Dina Titus, Professor Emerita at UNLV, and Mark Amodei, a University of Nevada alumnus, Friday announced a friendly wager on Saturday’s football game between the Runnin' Rebels and the Wolf Pack in Reno.

In honor of “Make A Difference Day,” they will perform a community service project with the losing member sporting the opposing team’s sweatshirt and supplying the victor with an appropriate colored Fremont Cannon replica.
