Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 10/05/2020 - 9:56amMs. Moser. What a great lady. Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 06/25/2015 - 8:35amThe citizens of this great country started a Revolution in 1773 by throwing tea into the Boston Harbor to protest “Taxation without Representation”. A new Revolution has begun in the state of Nevada for the same reason.
On November 4, 2014, nearly 80% of Nevada’s voters said NO to Question 3, The Education Initiative, which was a margins tax based on a business’s gross receipts. Just 72 days later, during his State of the State address on January 15, 2015, Governor Brian Sandoval proposed a $7.3 Billion budget to be funded with roughly $1 Billion in new taxes.
Dave Cook demonstrates that experience matters
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 10/28/2014 - 4:14amIn his October 19th Nevada Appeal column, Guy Farmer endorsed "PK" O'Neill for State Assembly, but described O'Neill's opponent, Dave Cook, as "a perennial candidate who should have remained on the State Board of Education." Farmer offers no rationale for his support of O'Neill or for his dismissive attitude toward Mr. Cook, whose term as Northern Nevada's representative on the Board of Education ends in 2016, not 2014.

Electorial Tidal Wave...NOW WHAT?
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 11/04/2010 - 8:01amWe have just witnessed political history on a scale that we may never see again…maybe at a level that no one will ever see again. Riding in on the back of the Tea Party and a message of limited government, the republicans have been given a second chance, but many questions arise. Will they blow it again?
