Toys for Tots Drop Off at Carson City Farmers Insurance

If you would like to participate please drop off new, unwrapped toys through December 21st. We are located at 425 East Long Street (corner of Roop and Long). We are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Suits for Soldiers

Farmers Insurance is collecting gently used suits, sports coats, slacks, blouses, skirts, ties and other professional attire. The collection will continue through the end of November. The clothing will be donated to veterans returning to the work force who are in need of professional clothing. Donations may be dropped off at any Farmers Insurance office in Carson City. The main collection location being 425 East Long Street, on the corner of Roop and Long Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more information please call 434-0545.

Carson City Chamber welcomes Farmers Insurance Agency Owner Terri Baijounas

The Carson City Chamber of Commerce welcomed Terri Baijounas, Farmers' Insurance newest Carson City agency owner, with a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday. It is the chamber's newest member and latest business to open its doors on John Street.

Baijounas, who has been affiliated with Farmers Insurance for 34 years in Nevada and California, set out on her own in May of this year with a branch as an agency owner.

Dayton Elementary teacher Christie Kranjcec wins $2,500 classroom grant

Christie Kranjcec, a fourth grade teacher at Dayton Elementary School, has won a $2,500 grant through Farmers Insurance's "Thank a Million Teachers" program, a national initiative that invites America to offer thanks to teachers, present and past, who have made a difference in their lives.  

Scott Parker is new Carson City area AAA branch manager

CARSON CITY — Scott Parker has joined the Carson City branch of AAA as the branch manager. He will oversee the 10 employees and office operations related to insurance, travel and memberships of the century-old-plus company. He started on Jan. 14.

Parker, who hails from Medford, Ore., has a long history of management in the insurance industry. This includes a 26-year stint with Farmers Insurance Group in different capacities. He last worked as a district sales manager after serving as a reserve district manager and agency owner as an independent agent.
