The exhibit will open on Sunday, April 24 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Foreman-Roberts House, 1207 North Carson Street, Carson City, NV. 89703 (the little yellow house on Main Street). Donations are accepted.

Yes, for some, history elicits a yawn, but once you get into it, the history of a community can be fascinating and will get you off your couch and perhaps onto your bicycle, for much of our history can be found within the downtown core where bike riding is easy. Don’t own a bike, well, you can walk to many of the sites.

I like history — it’s about Greek gods, and it’s pretty interesting,” she said. “I also like the biography series, ‘Who Was?’ books. They’re about people who made a change in the world. Watch out for motorcycles, now that the Spring Rally has rumbled into town, the bikes will be out in full force. Tonight, head over to the Fandango to enjoy the Trey Stone Trio or grab a Hawaiian shirt and join in the Beach Party Karaoke fun at Carson Lanes.

In his book, McLaughlin focuses on the top ten biggest winters in the Tahoe Sierra based on snowfall measured at Donner Pass since 1879. "We had a couple of seats left, with quite a few tickets sold for tomorrow," said Candy Duncan, executive director of the Carson City Convention and Visitors Bureau. "Today went very smoothly and everyone was excited about going on that first ride of the season."
