Celebrate Earth Day with Mountain Area Preservation and join us for the 6th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival, a live and virtual event on Friday, April 23.

This year's event will be hosted virtually and will include an online auction benefiting MAP’s environmental advocacy work in the Truckee and Lake Tahoe area. The virtual festival will feature award-winning films focused on the environment, conservation, adventure, and more! Get inspired and celebrate the power of activism by attending Wild & Scenic.

Join Friends of Black Rock – High Rock for a fun-filled evening with food and drink, watching amazing and inspiring films about nature in the beautiful Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater.

Where: Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater, 6000 Bartley Ranch Rd, Reno, NV
Gates open @ 5PM. Films start @ 7:15PM. Event ends @ 10PM.

We will have a food truck on site, as well as adult beverages for purchase.

We will have a raffle and silent auction for a variety of prizes.

10th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival South Lake Tahoe

Presented by the Sierra Nevada Alliance, South Tahoe Earth Day Committee and Patagonia South Lake Tahoe, the 10th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival South Lake Tahoe combines award-winning environmental and adventure films with the energy of local activism. Featured films will include exciting outdoor adventures, environmental battles and inspirational stories of people making a difference. The Film Festival will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the MontBleu Showroom.

Sixth Annual Science Expo at Lake Tahoe coming in March

The UC Davis’s Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) in partnership with the Tahoe Expedition Academy (TEA) will host the sixth annual Science Expo on March 16.

The fair features interactive experiments and demonstrations for children from the third to sixth grade, ages 8 to 12 and their families. The event is free and will run from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences in Incline Village. Ice cream will be provided by Susie Scoops of Incline Village and UC Davis TERC.
