Motorbike madness returns: Carson City’s Outlaw Flat Trac Race happening this weekend

The event is from 6-10 p.m., Friday, Aug. 25 and Saturday, Aug. 26 at Fuji Park just south of Carson City at 601 Old Clear Creek Road, for an adrenaline-fueled experience.

Storey County candidate for sheriff is veteran Carson City law officer

Sgt. Mike Cullen, who has spent the past 24 years with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, and has served as a sergeant since 2003, also spent 4 years as a correctional officer at Nevada State Prison and was a reserve deputy with CCSO from 92-94.

CCAI will host a reception for the show on Friday, June 9, 5-7pm including a short introduction of the exhibition participants at 5:30pm. Dirt bike, ATV riders urged to follow the law, keep the riding off road in designated areas

In doing so though, a reminder, riding your dirt bike or ATV on the streets is not legal as they are designated “Off road use only” vehicles.
Carson City race participant in Prison Hill Challenge found after being reported missing
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sat, 04/18/2015 - 3:31pmA runner reported missing in Saturday’s Escape From Prison Hill Challenge was found after becoming lost, according to Carson City Sheriff's Office dispatch.
Carson City Search and Rescue was called Saturday afternoon to the area of Silver Saddle Ranch east of Carson City for the participant who had not checked out after the race. The man’s vehicle remained in the parking area and he had not check out, according to dispatch.

Wilderness area proposal would harm regional economy says public Pro-Access group
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 08/27/2012 - 3:29pmWith the comment period ending Thursday, August 30, the newly formed Sierra Pro-Access Group is asking outdoor enthusiasts to write against a U.S. Forest Service alternative plan that proposes creating new wilderness areas that would shut down some of the locals' most beloved recreation areas on public land around the Lake Tahoe Basin.
The economic effects on the Lake Tahoe Basin could be devastating, the group says, shutting out what clearly has been public access for not only snowmobiles, but mountain bikes, dirt bikes, and 4-wheel ATVs.
