FERNLEY 95A SPEEDWAY RACE RESULTS for 5/12/2012

More than 70 cars were on hand for the five racing divisions on the 3/8 mile clay oval, with an additional nine Outlaw Karts racing on the small infield track.
Carson Girls U10 Softball – Pink Diamonds pick up win against Dayton

This brings the Pink Diamonds record to 7-3 for the season with 4 games to play. On a beautiful afternoon, the teams went on to play and Pink Diamond players Sarah Gomer and Savanna Sharp volunteered to help out the Little Devils.

- Jerald Fahey, 38, a current inmate at the Carson City Detention Facility, had the additional allegations of battery by a prisoner and gross misdemeanor destruction of jail property (a television set) added to his list of allegations after an incident at around 6 p.m. Saturday. An additional bail of $17,500 was levied.
Free Foreclosure Class

The class will focus on the foreclosure process including mandatory mediation and the government sponsored loss mitigation options. The class will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Dayton Library, 321 Old Dayton Rd., Dayton. Nevada Legal Services is a nonprofit HUD Certified Housing Counseling organization providing free legal services to low income Nevadans. - Tyrell Liddicoat, 24, a Carson City man, just prior to 10 p.m. Saturday. Liddicoat was arrested for attempted burglary at the 600 block of Sonoma Street. Bail has been set at $25,000.

- Jeffrey David Volosin, 29, a Gardnerville man, for several warrants in his name: lewdness with a child under the age of 14 (two counts) and sexual assault on a child under 14 (five counts). These warrants were issued on the 24th of February out of Carson City. Bail has been set at $250,000.

Crime Log: Carson City sex offender arrested after failing to register

- Dwayne Kirk Snyder, 34, a Carson City man, for felony failure to register as a sex offender. Snyder was arrested near the intersection fo Carmine and Nichols streets at about 6:30 Wednesday evening. Snyder's registered address is allegedly located in Silver Springs, but when asked it was discovered he had been living in Carson City for at least two months. Bail is set at $7,500.

Brian Angel-Ramirez, 21, a Carson City resident, for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamines), as well as the misdemeanor allegations of fictitious registration plates, possession of drug paraphernalia, no proof of insurance, and driving under a suspended driver's license. Bail is set at $4,750 plus administrative fees.

- Steven Lewis Lisch, 32, a Santa Rosa, Calif. man, for a failure to appear warrant in his name and obtaining money under false pretenses. Lisch was also arrested for misdemeanor allegations of domestic battery. Lisch allegedly manipulated his girlfriend through threats of violence into attempting to cash a large fraudulent check at a US Bank in Carson City. Bail is set at $85,500 plus administrative fees.

- Ashley Ore-Larson, 18, a Carson City woman, for conspiracy to violation the controlled substances act and possession of heroin. Ore-Larson was also arrested for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail has been set at $18,500 plus administrative fees. Submitted by T. Costa on Thu, 04/05/2012 - 4:06pmCarson City Sheriff's deputies involved in the Special Enforcement Team made a series of arrests on Wednesday evening based on an anonymous tip of marijuana plants being grown. Four people were arrested:
- Justin Lobretto, 29, a Carson City man, for possession of a controlled substance (marijuana - approximately 60 plants). Lobretto was also arrested for a gross misdemeanor allegation of child endangerment and a misdemeanor allegation of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail is set at $6,000 plus administrative fees.

When we were married 10 years ago, we took a 19 day honeymoon in Southeast Asia, which included Hong Kong, China; Singapore, Malaysia; Bangkok, Thailand; and the last eight days at Bali, Indonesia.
Most interesting, we took my new mother-in-law, Mary Bottoms, with us!
I bet that very few of you took your mother-in-law on your honeymoon!

- Charity Michael Rife, 35, a Sparks woman, was transferred to the Carson City Detention Facility from the Northern Nevada Correctional Facility on the following warrants out of Carson City: obtaining and using a false ID to avoid imprisonment; theft; burglary (two counts; uttering forged instruments (three counts); and theft from $250 - $2,500 (two counts). Bail is set at $50,000.

- Lindsay Ann Hammers, 23, a fast food employee from Carson City, for a probation and parole violation. Hammers was also arrested on allegations of misdemeanor cell phone use while driving and a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant in her name. No bail has been set.
- Cheryl Bettencourt, 53, a Carson City resident, for burglary and a misdemeanor petit larceny allegation. Bail is set at $25,250 plus administrative fees.
Crime Log: Sparks man arrested by Carson City deputies

Costa on Thu, 03/22/2012 - 8:37amCarson City Sheriff's deputies arrested Joseph Anthony Rodgers, 21, a Sparks resident, at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening at the 1900 block of North Carson Street. Rodgers was arrested for felony allegations of possession of a stolen vehicle and a probation and parole violation. He was also arrested on a misdemeanor allegation of violation of a protection order. No bail has been set because of the probation violation.
Deputies also made the following misdemeanor arrests:
- A 27-year-old Dayton woman for two contempt of court warrants in her name.

Crime Log: Carson City convenience store robbed; upcoming DUI checkpoint

The log indicates that the suspect may have injured himself during the robbery, as an officer reported discovering blood.

- Patrick William "Roach" Ouellette, 29, an unemployed Reno man, for felony warrants in his name of 1st degree kidnapping with the use of a deadly weapon, second degree kidnapping with the use of a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon, and assault with a deadly weapon. Duellette was also alleged to have committed felony extortion, which carries a $250,000 bail charge.

Don Q Outdoors: An annual winter escape to Southern California
Submitted by admin on Thu, 03/01/2012 - 4:16pmOn Feb. 12, Sal and Catali Quilici of Dayton and Elaine and I traveled by two convoying vehicles on U.S. 395 from Carson City to Lone Pine, Calif., which was the half-way point to our final destination of La Quinta.
It was our annual winter escape to Southern California.
The four of us had been invited to join Don and Norma Reasons of Carson City for several days at one of their friend’s home, located across from the ninth green at the PGA West – Stadium Golf Course in La Quinta.
