But this Spring, J.P. is also lacing up his dancing shoes. Partnered with Tracey Muetzenberg, J.P. is competing in Suicide Prevention Network of Douglas County’s Gotta Dance Competition.
Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care wins big during contest at celebrity golf tournament

You can meet Author Laura Lea White at the Browser’s Corner Book Shop tonight; copies of her book ‘Generational Gifts: The Legacy of Evelyn Marie’ will be available. Silver Dollar Cruise Night is at Dunkin' Donuts; every Thursday through summer you'll find hot rods, street racers, and cool old cars at a different location.

High Sierra Swing Dance contest 'celebs' prepare for big night
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 04/14/2013 - 10:26amSix local Carson City celebrities are competing in a "Dancing With the Stars"- type contest at the High Sierra Swing Dance Club’s sixth anniversary dinner-dance on April 27 at the Carson Nugget.
The "Local Celebrities Who Think They Can Dance" contestants have been paired with local dance instructors for a variety of dances, including swing, country, Latin, and hip hop. The instructors are Jo Ann Grace, Rainer Herm, Emily Thicke, Armando Nevarez, Earl Case and Bob Truesdale.

The dancing stars had some ups and downs, they all tried to dazzle the judges in hopes of winning the mirror ball trophy.

Local stars expected to compete include Sheriff Ken Furlong, District Attorney Neil Rombardo, City Supervisor/Adele’s co-owner Karen Abowd, Miss Carson City Vannesa Macias, and several others. They are teamed up with experienced dancers as they vie for the mirror ball trophy.

The now married 32 year-old, a new father, is listed at 5-2, ahead of perennial favorite Rick Rhoden (4-1), the former Major League Baseball pitcher who has won the American Century Championship eight times and started 33 tournaments on the PGA Champions Tour.

The event is put on by the High Sierra Swing Dance Club, and involves getting some local "celebrities" to compete in a mini "Dancing with the Stars"-style contest. If you are the betting type, I'd put my money on Sheriff Kenny Furlong to win.
