If you aren’t off to the Playa yourself, there will be plenty of fun around town to keep you and your family occupied. The second annual Family Fun Day in Mills Park is your best bet for kids of all ages. This week’s free concert at Brewery Arts Center features the Dusty Green Bones. Don’t forget your dancing shoes; they’re sure to keep you on your feet.

Families can celebrate with a concert in Minden Park that will be filled with the music of Credence Clearwater Survival. Adults will enjoy an outdoor concert at Living the Good Life with Mo'z Motley Blues Band - just make sure to wish the proprietress a happy birthday. Fallon might be a few miles away, but their Cantaloupe Festival, Carnival, and Country Fair is sure to make up for the drive with delicious offerings and a fun country tribute concert.

Join Prevent Child Abuse Nevada and Advocates to End Domestic Violence in the annual planting of the pinwheels. We should have a break from the rain by then, but it’ll still be a windy day. Stick around downtown for a special tour of our historic Capitol with Muscle Powered. The storm won’t stop the fun to be found in the valley tonight. Read on to see all your nightlife options, including a free concert at the Sierra at Shepherd of the Sierra Lutheran Church and two performances by comedian Kevin Farley at the Nugget.

Farley is the main event at the Carson Nugget during a weekend packed with live entertainment. The lineup includes Farley in the Carson Comedy Club and FREE perfomances by Ev Musselman in Alatte and Cool Phat Daddy in an all new venue, The Loft. Karaoke will be hosted by J&M Productions in Alatte on Saturday night.

You can Wine Walk until you Holiday Crawl downtown. Take your pick of craft shows in town. Kids won’t want to miss the Santa Train at the State Railroad Museum or one of the two performances of ‘The Peanutcracker’ at the Community Center. Whether you’d like to spend the days indoors or out, there is something for all ages in the Carson City area this weekend.

The Silver and Snowflakes Festival includes carols, sleigh rides, hot chocolate, and of course, the lighting of the Capitol. Don’t forget to head to the First Presbyterian Church for the Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser. You’ll get a handmade, hand painted ceramic bowl to keep and lots of yummy food to keep you warm. The talented kids of Wild Horse Children’s Theater hit the stage for opening night of ‘Elf Jr.
