Emily Howarth’s advanced manufacturing and mechatronics students were honored on Wednesday at Western Nevada College. In as little as two semesters, the nine students earned the Siemens Certified Mechatronic Systems certification.

Funded by a $1.2 million naming gift from the William N. Pennington Foundation of Reno and donations from the community, the Club broke ground on the Carson City teen center in October 2015.
CCAI Industrial Art at the Library

The show, previously at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery, will be available at the Library through November 19.
The Library will host a public reception for Industrial Art on Friday, October 2, 3:30-5pm in honor of Manufacturer's Month [October]. The Library’s MT1 training room and the Digitorium will also feature students’ manufacturing activities during the open house event.
BSA Troop 33 to Host the 2nd Annual “Send a Scout to Camp” Car and Truck Show Fundraiser

The Show will be from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; award ceremony starts at 3 p.m. Registration is $40 per entry. There is still time for pre-registration or you can register on the day of the event. Each participant will receive a T-shirt, one lunch meal ticket, and a dash plaque.

There is chance of rain this afternoon, so spend some time indoors checking out the new exhibit in the CCAI Courthouse Gallery. ‘Industrial Art’ presents the design work of five manufacturers in the the area including American AVK, CGI Inc., Click Bond Inc., Silver State Stainless, and Vineburg Machining Inc. The official opening reception is Friday at 5 p.m. Or enjoy the art at the Nevada Arts Council, inside the BRIC building on Proctor, inside the Sierra Room of the Community Center, or in the two galleries at the Brewery Arts Center.

This signature event also saw the largest attendance for this event in NNDA history with over 340 celebrating these announcements. In addition to this annual recognition businesses were selected in 9 different categories. For six weeks NNDA collected over 50 nominees in those categories with the winners being announced at the Pioneer Awards Banquet.
