August 25, 2018 - 2:00pm Our citizenship class provides the civics knowledge and English language skills needed to pass the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) naturalization interview.
Citizenship preparation classes are sponsored by the ESL In-Home Program of Northern Nevada. These classes are available at all proficiency levels and at no cost to the student.
Week Three: Carson City Library closure update

With a refresh underway allowing for improvements inside its 22,000-square-foot building, limited Carson City Library services will be available over the next two weeks 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays at Adams Hub Studio, 177 W. Proctor St.

While the Carson City Library is closed this week, the staff is busy packing up books, furniture, computers and everything in between in preparation for new floors and new paint.

Learn how to help them! Date: Thursday, September 1, 2016 Time: 5:15 PM Where: United Latino Community, 1711 N. Roop St., Carson City (corner of Roop and Beverly). We train and provide the materials for free. Your Trainer will teach the class with you several times until you are comfortable. Come check it out! Bring a friend!

Hold on to your hats, Carson City, summer isn’t ready to quit us just yet. An aviation air show at the Minden Airport, the coin show and fair at the Nevada State Museum, and a fishing derby for the kids at Little Washoe Lake are only the tip of the iceberg. The Pavilion at Mills Park is where you’ll find the annual Carson High Football Boosters Fundraising BBQ. The Quicksilver Dog Agility Trials are always fun to watch, and they’ll be at Fuji Park all weekend. Carson Lanes has family fun indoors and out all day long during their Bowling Blast-off.

August 22, 2015 - 10:00am United Latino Community is hosting a free workshop: How to Teach Citizenship Class, Saturday, August 22. We need volunteer tutors! There is a long waiting list of people waiting for a Citizenship Class. United Latino Community has easy to follow teaching materials and will provide training and assistance. You are needed! The workshop is from 10:00 until 10:30 on Saturday, August 22, at United Latino Community, 1711 N. Roop St.(corner of Roop and Beverly). Help someone become a citizen of the United States! Commitment is two hours each week for three months at your convenience.
