Ceremonies, holiday craft fairs and more: Carson City region set for Veterans Day weekend

Heading into the Veterans Day weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next four days. Events include live comedy, art and heater, multiple holiday craft fairs around Carson City and Carson Valley as well as several Veterans Day ceremonies and offers of gratitude to vets and active duty members of the U.S. military on Monday. Hot chocolate, Santa, soup, and song made the annual Silver and Snowflakes Festival a success. The annual event co-sponsored by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce and the Redevelopment Committee brought young and old downtown to watch the Capitol light up.

A Christmas Fair in Telegraph Square featured entertainment by the Carson Middle School Band, the Carson High Chamber Choir, and the Youth Theater Carson City Showstoppers. Craft booths for the kids, vendors, and a roaming Grinch were all a part of the action. Santa’s appearance was the icing on the cake.

Country Christmas Fair in Stagecoach to benefit DUI crash victim

Friends of a Dayton woman who was the victim in a drunk driving crash will hold a fundraising craft fair this Friday and Saturday in Stagecoach.

Pacheco is a single mother of two and is unable to work right now due to her injuries, said Cassidy Davis.

The fundraiser will feature plenty of Christmas shopping opportunities from local businesses and crafts from local crafters and artists. There will be live music Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. by Joseph Greco.
