Classical Tahoe, a celebration of classical music that aims to enrich the cultural and community vitality of Lake Tahoe, is adapting its annual Orchestra Festival to a Chamber Music Series in Incline Village from July 30 to August 16. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the careers of musicians and artists, the performance nonprofit seeks to bring awareness on how chamber groups can perform safely for the community while providing a transformative, intimate music experience.

The Carson City Symphony, directed by David Bugli, will open its 36th season on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019, at 4 p.m., with an “Overture of the Season” concert at the Carson City Community Center's Bob Boldrick Theater.

TOCCATA-Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus opens its concert series at the elegant Genoa Lakes Golf Club Ballroom at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 31st with a special program.

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Arts Council announced Friday the awarding of more than $1 million in statewide grants to 172 recipients ranging from individual artists to nonprofit organizations and public institutions for the 2020 fiscal year.

Cellist Clive Greensmith, former cellist of the legendary Tokyo String Quartet and a longtime Nevada Chamber Music Festival favorite, makes his first Reno Chamber Orchestra appearance. He is featured in the Rococo Variations by Tchaikovsky, the lovely “Minstrel’s Song” by Alexander Glazunov, and Lukas Foss’s Capriccio. Also on the program are works by Mozart and Bizet.

The Aurelia Chamber Players will perform at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park at 6:30 pm on Thursday, July 20.

The Aurelia Chamber Players are putting on a concert at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville on Friday, August 12, at 7 p.m. This concert will feature Gardnerville native, Anne Ristorcelli, as well as regional artists and internationally renowned musicians.

An enchanting evening of chamber music with the Aurelia Chamber Players performing works of Beethoven, Chausson and Dohnanyi. The Aurelia Chamber players is pleased to feature many internationally acclaimed musicians as well as the Concert Master, Principal Cellist and other members of the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra. Tahoe Chamber Music Society closes its 2016 season by welcoming back saxophonist Peter Epstien and the University of Nevada Jazz Quartet. The recital will feature original compositions and favorite standards.

Classical music of Spain and Hollywood’s most celebrated movie scores will highlight a weekend filled with Latin-fused flamenco and string symphony as world renowned guitarist Ana Vidović, opens and famed double bass player Jeremy McCoy closes the second weekend of Lake Tahoe SummerFest, Aug. 7-9 in Incline Village, Nev.

Lake Tahoe SummerFest’s fourth season, “Passport to a World of Music,” will bring Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn to audiences July 31 – Aug. 16. The three weekend series of nine different concerts will transport attendees through masterpieces translated by renowned artists and a nationally acclaimed orchestra of 40 players.

Considered one of the best of its kind in the world, and lauded by the San Francisco Chronicle as “showcasing music’s future,” the Reno Jazz Festival at the University of Nevada, Reno has been bringing jazz superstars and the finest emerging young artists to town for more than five decades.

USAF Golden West Winds will perform a free concert this Saturday evening, Aug. 16, in the backyard of the Governor's Mansion as part of the Jazz and Beyond festival this month in Carson City.

Metropolitan Opera Star Matthew Polenzani and U.S. Billboard Classical Chart best-selling pianist Simone Dinnerstein will be thrilling audiences this August as soloists for the 2014 Lake Tahoe SummerFest.

Cellist Stephen Framil, visiting from Philadelphia to perform with the Carson City Symphony, will hold a Masterclass for Cellists on Thursday, April 25, 3:00-4:30 p.m., in the Band Room at Carson High School, 1111 N. Saliman Road in Carson City.

At the class, five selected cellists will participate, and observers are welcome. The class, sponsored by the Carson City Symphony Association, is open to the public. Admission is free.

A series of classical music concerts featuring a 38 piece symphony orchestra of world-renowned artists highlights Lake Tahoe SummerFest in August. Weekend performances include Friday and Saturday night symphonies and Sunday programming for families.

Internationally renowned soloists and a world-class orchestra of 38 instrumentalists will contribute to an exclusive series of classical concerts and performances during Lake Tahoe SummerFest, the first three weekends of August.

LAKE TAHOE — Visitors and locals alike can head to the shoreline of the Tallac Historic Site for some of the area’s most unique and diverse entertainment. The Valhalla Arts, Music, and Theatre Festival is bringing down the house with its July line-up and it’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Pianist Dr. Ron Williams performed the 50th Anniversary Recital of Toccatas and Sonatas Thursday night at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall.

The event was put on as a fundraiser for Carson City Symphony’s String for the School Program. More than fifty people attended, ranging from children to seniors.

The Recital featured songs written and originally played by J.S. Bach, D. Scarlatti, Paradisi, Haydn, Schumann, Beethoven and Ravel.

Williams was accompanied by his wife Genevieve Williams, who also assisted him while he was performing.
