The Carson Tahoe Center for Wound Healing, in partnership with Healogics Inc., has launched an innovative Integrated Wound Care Community program at Ormsby Skilled Nursing Facility and Carson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The Carson Tahoe Center for Wound Healing and Healogics, Inc are joining together to offer free educational seminars in Carson City and Reno.

Nancy Morgan, Co-Founder of WCEI, and David A. Johnson DMD, FAAFP, Healogics Physician of the Year recipient and Regional Medical Director at the Carson Tahoe Center for Wound Healing, Carson City, will be co-speakers of the event.

Carson Tahoe Health would like to recognize David A. Johnson, MD, Medical Director of the Carson Tahoe Center for Wound Healing in Carson City, for receiving the honorary Physician of the Year award from Healogics, Inc.

The Carson Tahoe Center for Wound Healing is partnering locally with Healogics, Inc., the country’s largest provider in wound care services, to raise awareness throughout the region about chronic wounds affecting millions of people in the U.S. The rising incidence of chronic wounds continues to be fueled by an aging population and increasing rates of diseases and conditions such as obesity, and the late effects of radiation therapy. Left untreated, chronic wounds can lead to diminished quality of life and possibly amputation of the affected limb.

The rising incidence of chronic wounds continues to be fueled by an aging population and increasing rates of diseases and conditions such as obesity, and the late effects of radiation therapy. The Carson Tahoe Center for Wound Healing has been recognized as a Center of Distinction by Healogics, Inc., the world’s leading wound care management company, making it the only not-for-profit center in Nevada to have earned this national award. The Carson Tahoe Center for Wound Healing is one of only two facilities in the state with this distinction.

More than 8 million people in the U.S. suffer from non-healing wounds, which are often impeded by such diseases and conditions as diabetes, obesity, aging and the late effects of radiation therapy.

The newly expanded Carson Tahoe Center for Wound Healing is located on the second floor of the Carson Tahoe Specialty Medical Center at 775 Fleischmann Dr. in Carson City. The center now provides the latest advanced treatments to help these patients heal and with a faster recovery times.
