The Carson City Council of the United States Navy League will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino, Carson City. The Social hour will start at 5:30 PM and Dinner will begin at 6:30PM.

The Carson City Council of the Navy League of the United States, will be sponsoring a special event on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020 to honor the 2019 Sailors and Marines of the Year assigned to Naval Air Station Fallon and Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, along with the Recruiter of the Year from Naval Recruiting District, Portland, assigned to the Reno Office.

Heading into Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, events around the capital city include a Polka Dot Powerhouse lunch connect at Red's Old 395 Grill, "Get Fit with Fight Camp" at Yaple's Ballroom, the Navy League capital city chapter will celebrate veterans at its monthly meeting held at Gold Dust West, the Carson City School District seeks public input on its Strategic Plan at a community meeting, plus art showings, classes and more.

The Carson City Council of the Navy League of the United States will honor Veterans, past and present, at our November meeting. We will also pay tribute to our MIA’s and POW’s and celebrate both the Navy and Marine Corps birthdays. Our speaker for the Special Veteran’s Day celebration will be Captain Evan Morrison, Commanding Officer of Naval Air Station Fallon.

The Carson City Council of the Navy League of the United States will hold this quarter’s Dinner and meeting on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino, Carson City. The Social hour will start at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Among the events and activities today include continued voting to bring the Levitt AMP concert back to Carson City this summer, a Silver and Blue Nevada rivalry blood drive, a volunteer meeting for Toys for Tots; a showing of "Casino Boss" that was filmed this summer at the Carson Nugget starring SNL Alum Jose Piscopo, a visit by Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable and Montgomery Clift in Dayton, art showings and more.

Our speaker for the Special Veteran’s Day celebration will be Captain Robert Wiley, Retired, who was the first Master of the USNS Carson City, T-EPF 7.

Our speaker for the Special Veteran’s Day celebration will be Katherine (Kat) Miller, Colonel, USA retired, who is Director of the Nevada Department of Veterans Services.

Captain Wiley assumed this command on January 16, 2016 when the USNS Carson City was christened at Austal USA Shipyards in Mobile, Alabama.

The Navy League of the United States Carson City Council honored Navy Recruiter Second Class Petty Officer, LS2 Jose Soriano, as Recruiter of the Quarter for Naval Recruiting Station, Sparks.

The Speaker is a secret, but will explain the Navy and /or Marine Corps from a current enlisted perspective. What many of older Veteran’s knew as High Tech is antiquated in today’s military. Come and hear what has happened and to celebrate Veterans past and present!

Are you a supporter of the United States military, specifically the Sea Services? We need this community to show that support, learn more about the wide array of missions conducted by the Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines.

The Carson City Council of the Navy League of the United States will honor our Veterans, past and present, at our November Meeting! The Dinner Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 13, at Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino, 2171 Hwy 50E, Carson City.

This is a change of venue and day of the week. The social hour is at 5:30 PM followed by a buffet dinner at 6:30 PM. We will also be celebrating the Marine Corp’s 239th Birthday. Our speaker will be Colonel Scott D. Leonard, USMC, Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center.

On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, the Carson City Council of the Navy League of the United States will hold its next Dinner Meeting at the Gold Dust West Casino on Hwy 50 East.
The speaker will be Gwenn Sperling, HMCS(AW) USN (Ret’d). She will be discussing her career and more importantly her efforts as part of the JTFFA Recovery Team efforts in Vietnam and Laos to assist in bringing closure to families of MIA cases.
The Social Hour begins at 5:30 PM with the Dinner at 6:30 PM.
