Plank Owner Master of USNS Carson City to speak at November Navy League meeting

We will also pay tribute to our MIA’s and POW’s and celebrate both the Navy and Marine Corps birthdays. Our speaker will be Captain Robert T. Wiley, plankowner master of USNS Carson City, (T-EPF 7). Captain Wiley assumed this command on January 16, 2016 when the USNS Carson City was christened at Austal USA Shipyards in Mobile, Alabama.

The Speaker is a secret, but will explain the Navy and /or Marine Corps from a current enlisted perspective. What many of older Veteran’s knew as High Tech is antiquated in today’s military. Come and hear what has happened and to celebrate Veterans past and present!
Do You Support the Sea Services? Show you're support at May 21 Navy League dinner

The Carson City Council of the United States Navy League meets on quarterly basis conduction a dinner, meeting and informational speakers that talk about the various duties the Sea Services provide. This quarter’s Dinner and meeting will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino, Carson City. The Social hour will start at 5:30 PM and Dinner will begin at 6:30PM.

The Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. Our speaker will be Commander Eugene Woodruff, Executive Officer of NAS Fallon. Commander Woodruff will be speaking about new developments in the Chinese Navy and Territorial actions taken by the Chinese in the past year.
Navy vessel to be named USNS Carson City; Secretary praises capital city and Nevada
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Fri, 04/12/2013 - 10:40amThe U.S. Navy will name a Joint High Speed Vessel after Nevada’s Capital, Carson City. The vessel will be called The United States Naval Ship Carson City.
Nevada Sen. Harry Reid and Congressman Mark Amodei were both informed this week of the USNS Carson City decision by Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus during a meeting in the U.S. Capitol.
