The Levitt AMP Carson City summer concert series at the Change Companies stage continues this Saturday, July 6 with a double billing featuring a lineup of soul and R&B music and folk pop and rock acts.

A Bumpy Ride across Carson Skies: an overly-dramatized recount of flying in a single-engine plane on a breezy day

The first time I rode in a small plane was at the Carson City Airport Open house. I was probably 5, my brother probably 8, along with our dad who took us to geek out over the WWII planes and tanks.

The pilot offered us a ride, and we climbed aboard a small orange-and-white plane with a bench seat in the back and two seats in the front. My dad sat beside the pilot, my brother and I strapped in the back.

About thirty seconds after take-off, my brother and I noticed something horrific to our child-minds: in the back of the cockpit, buzzing around beside us, was a bee.

A 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday night for suspicion of DUI, hit and run, obstructing and gross misdemeanor child endangerment, a sheriff's report states.

Carson City deputies make weekend arrests for domestic battery, drugs and obstructing

A 28-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. A man involved in the altercation was also arrested for two outstanding warrants, a sheriff's deputy report said.

The conditions at Spooner Lake this week will be cold and wet so we are moving Thursday's hike "down to the valley" and will be hiking at Centennial Park on the Wild Horse Trail. This trail starts behind the ballfields at Centennial Park. Drive all the way to the back of ballfields on Heritage Way where the trail starts. Water and sturdy closed-toe shoes required. Hat, sunscreen and hiking poles recommended.

Carson City woman arrested for DUI drugs after causing three car collision Friday afternoon

A 51-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday afternoon in the area of Silver Sage and Sonoma for DUI drugs, failure to maintain lane, and failure to use due care, which resulted in a three car collision.

The woman was arrested after deputies responded to a traffic accident in which the driver who caused the accident appeared to be under the influence, according to the report.
