A certain popular Netflix documentary, Tiger King, has taken the quarantined world by storm, in which several bizarre big-cat owners face off, alleging many criminal enterprises at each other with the back drop of exotic animals who sometimes maim their keepers.

Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation (WARF) is hosting a casual al fresco Yappy Hour on Tuesday, July 9, from 4-6 PM at Genoa’s Sierra Chef. The popular catering company and cooking school will be providing delicious complimentary nibbles and wine and beer will be available for purchase in keepsake WARF glasses. Canine companions are invited to attend. WARF is raising awareness about its new Animal Sanctuary under construction in Stagecoach. Yappy Hour is open to the public and admission is free.

Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation, also known as WARF, will return to downtown Carson City for the second annual “Pouring for Paws” fundraiser on Saturday, June 2, from 1-6 p.m. at McFadden Plaza.

RENO, Nev. — A bear that apparently became too accustomed to the good life at a ski resort at Lake Tahoe is headed for an animal sanctuary or zoo after wildlife officials decided he's unfortunately become too domesticated to be returned to the wild.

Two guest speakers will be featured this month at the second Silver Springs social for families with military members and veterans.

The social will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Silver Springs Senior/Community Center, 2945 Fort Churchill Road in Silver Springs. The gathering is for Silver Springs and Stagecoach families of veterans, enlisted and reserve members, and for reserve, active duty, and veterans. It is open to anyone from Silver Springs and Stagecoach with a family member who is or has been in the military. Children are very welcome!
