Evans Broadcasting acquires Reno radio stations

Evans Broadcasting Company, Inc., a Carson City-based radio broadcasting business, recently purchased two Reno FM radio stations, said company spokesman Stephen Thomas.

Reply to Peter (good grief...!) Hennessey

I can't help but agree with Peter Hennessey when he says he sees a "deep, irreconcilable mental and psychological divide between the two Parties (sic)." That is manifestly the case.

In 2010 I volunteered for Rory Reid's campaign and made the mistake of mentioning that I had been a registered Republican for 34 years. Predictably I was given a list of supposedly "persuadable" Republicans to canvas, which I dutifully did.

For the past couple of months I have been a co-host for a radio sports show "Talking Sports with Rick Parr." Rick Parr is the General Manager for the Reno Aces. It's a great show. We talk everything sports for an hour live every Wednesday morning from the Reno Town Mall and on 101.3 FM Renegade Radio or on renegaderadio.org. This show is interactive to the listeners. You can call in, come in to the mall and join us live on set, or you can chime in on Facebook. If you miss the live show, you can hear the replay of the last week's show every Sunday evening at 5pm on 99.1 FM Talk.

The streets of downtown Reno were packed earlier this month for the 31st Annual Eldorado Great Italian Festival Locals and tourists, Italians and those that wanted to be Italian for the weekend, all came out to celebrate the sights, sounds and smells of Italy. Attendees at the October 6 and 7 festival enjoyed great Italian food, free entertainment, bocce ball, an Italian farmers market and friendly competition.
