Below is this week's fishing report for rivers, lakes and streams in Nevada, Northern California, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra. This report is for the week of Dec. 12-18. We want to note a big fish caught by Eric St. Denis of South Lake Tahoe, Calif., pictured above.

Lake Tahoe inspectors intercept, decontaminate four boats for invasive mussels

With sunny skies and warm temperatures predicted for the 4th of July holiday week, boaters are urged to Clean, Drain and Dry their boats before arriving at one of 5 roadside inspection stations in the Tahoe to avoid delays and decontamination fees.
Lake Tahoe prepares itself for multiple fireworks celebrations
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 06/13/2012 - 3:36pmThe Lake Tahoe region will celebrates Independence Day holiday with multiple fireworks displays from virtually all points, with the first show set to kick off July 3.
“North Lake Tahoe is unique in that we have a series of fireworks events held throughout the region,” said Chief Marketing Officer Andy Chapman of the North Lake Tahoe Chamber/CVB/Resort Association. “Visitors to the area can take their pick in terms of when and where or enjoy more than one show during their stay.”
Carson City Board of Supervisors to allocate funds for special events
Submitted by admin on Sun, 04/01/2012 - 7:41amThe Carson City Board of Supervisors will discuss this week what groups will receive money this year out of the $100,000 Redevelopment fund for special events.
There are requests for $118,275, so the supervisors will have to pick which groups will not get what they asked for at the board's next meeting on April 5 at 8:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room at the Carson City Community Center.
Lake Tahoe boat inspection finds 37 quagga mussels on vessel

Boat inspectors at the Spooner Lake inspection station prevented a boat with 37 quagga mussels from entering Lake Tahoe on Aug. 7. The boat had arrived from Lake Mead, a water body known to be infected with aquatic invasive species. This incident was the first evidence of quagga on a boat attempting to enter Lake Tahoe this year, according to officials at the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency.
