Carson City arrests: Man jailed for suspicion of felony domestic battery
A 39-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Paul Michael Taylor Sr., was arrested in the 200 block of West Musser Street just after 11 p.m.
According to the booking report, the man allegedly tackled a female victim, put his hands around her throat, threw her to the ground and strangled her. The woman had abrasions on her neck, consistent with being choked/strangled, the arrest report states. She also had a large bruise on the back side of her neck that she stated she did not know was there.
Deputies spoke with the suspect, who stated he was involved in a confrontation with another male and said that the confrontation started when the other male was with the woman. The suspect smelled of alcohol and appeared intoxicated. He denied ever physically touching the woman, the report states.
An independent witness spoke with a deputy and stated they observed the man on top of the woman with his hands around her throat, strangling her, the arrest report states.
The man was arrested for suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation. Bail: $15,000.
In other arrests:
— A 44-year-old Dayton man, Robby William Flanagan, was arrested early Thursday for a felony warrant and two misdemeanor warrants. He was also booked for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, expired registration, no valid license and no insurance. He was being held without bail for the warrants.
