Nevada Health Centers rolls out new fleet of five mobile medical and dental units
Nevada Health Centers has rolled out a fleet of new medical and dental vehicles that will be driven around the Silver State to provide affordable assistance and checkups.
The state's oldest and largest federally qualified health center program provides access to quality healthcare across the state. Knowing that transportation can be a barrier to care, one way of providing is through the mobile medical and dental units that go to the neighbors of neighborhoods.
The medical (mammogram) and dental offices on wheels have the same credentials and certifications as brick-and-mortar facility would.
The new fleet was launched this month with the help of community partners, including Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas and Nevada Women’s Philanthropy. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile provides children of Las Vegas with dental care.
NVHC’s mission is to provide access to quality healthcare services throughout Nevada. Mammogram screenings are provided to all women regardless of economic status. Nevada Health Centers accept most major insurance plans, Medicaid and Medicare and offer a sliding fee scale for those who are uninsured.
