Carson City Supervisors seek to fill seats on Historic Resources Commission
The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Historic Resources Commission.
There are five positions available; two positions will fill unexpired terms ending February 2025 and three positions, will each fill a full term a term that expires in February 2027.
An applicant must qualify in any of the following categories for one appointment to be made by the Board of Supervisors in accordance with CCMC 18.06.025:
— Professional qualified in Building Construction – Unexpired Term
— A professional qualified architect or design professional with experience in historic preservation. – Unexpired Term
— A professional in the field of Historic Preservation.
— A professional in the discipline of archaeology, anthropology, history or related professions.
— Person who owns property and resides within the district, must be included in the membership.
The Historic Resources Commission reviews and makes decisions regarding projects in the Carson City Historic District and/or recommendations to the Planning Commission and/or Board of Supervisors regarding matters relating to Carson City historic resources.
The Board of Supervisors will interview and appoint the qualified persons to the Commission. Applicants must be Carson City residents and a professional in one of the categories listed above to qualify. All members will serve without compensation.

Applications will be accepted until Jan. 20, 2023. Interviews for these volunteer positions are tentatively planned to be held at the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023.
