Carson City Sheriff's SET, other agencies make arrests in 'porch pirate' and property theft ring

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Special Enforcement Team, with the assistance of the Gang Unit, Northern Nevada Safe Streets Task Force (FBI), and the Nevada Department of Public Safety: Tri-County Drug Task Force, has made two arrests related to an extensive theft and stolen property ring.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division initiated an investigation which started with the report of “porch pirates” stealing packages from residences in Carson City on Dec. 3, 2021. Members of the Special Enforcement Team located the suspects at an area hotel on Dec. 4, 2021. David Lee Loving was arrested for his connection to the porch thefts.
The subsequent investigation led to the service of two search warrants, the recovery of property, and additional arrests. By the conclusion of the investigation, additional stolen property was recovered as being tied to a myriad of vehicle and property thefts and a residential burglary from October 26th, 2021 through December 3rd, 2021. The following is a synopsis of the property recovered:
Two stolen trailers
Two stolen ATVs
Four Stolen Tires

David Lee Loving
44-year-old male from Las Vegas, Nevada
Currently pending weapons charges out of Las Vegas
Extensive criminal history
Currently being held on;
6 counts of grand larceny of a motor vehicle – bail $75,000
1 count of residential burglary – bail $25,000
1 count of each of the following; possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and convicted person failure to register – bail $2,500
Cody James Singleton
34-year-old male from Carson City, Nevada
Extensive criminal history
Currently being held on 3 counts of possession of a stolen vehicle – bail $75,000
One additional suspect is outstanding and is wanted for charges related to probation violation and stolen property possession. This person is Fernando Luna, who is a 38-year-old male who lives in Carson City.
