Carson City emergency crews respond to small explosion reported at battery recycling plant
Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called early Wednesday evening to an incident at a battery recycling plant in the 2800 block of Lockheed Way.
Calls to dispatch came in shortly before 5 p.m. of a fire at the plant, however, a person associated with the plant who reported the incident advised there wasn't a fire but rather a steam explosion in a maintenance area.
First responders on scene report two persons suffering minor injuries due to the explosion.
Carson City Fire Department was advised there are chemicals in the plant area. Firefighting personnel are securing the area and utilities companies have been notified.
