Carson City arrests: Suspect admits to trying to get into car inside garage
A 32-year-old woman was arrested Monday for suspicion of misdemeanor tampering with a motor vehicle, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
A deputy responded at 9:38 p.m. for a report of a possible vehicle burglary in progress at a Dartmouth Drive address.
The deputy located the suspect, who is from Carson City, sitting on the front lawn of a residence. The officer spoke with the woman who stated she didn't know where she was. She said her car was broken down at Western Nevada College and she was trying to walk home, the report states.
The suspect then admitted to going to the doors and car door at the Dartmouth Drive residence, and trying to open them while using a flashlight. On the ground next to the woman was a black flashlight.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party who stated the woman tried to open the front door of their home and also the side garage door. The RP stated the suspect went into the garage and then tried to open the car door, the report states.
Based on the witness statement and the woman admitted that she tried to open the home doors and car door, she was arrested for alleged tampering with a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor offense. Bail: $637.
In other arrests:
— A Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of open or gross lewdness. The man admitted to masturbating in an exam room at an urgent care medical facility. Bail: $2,500.
— A 43-year-old Gardnerville woman was arrested Tuesday for a misdemeanor violation of conditions warrant issued Nov. 8, 2023 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000 cash.
