Carson City arrests: Woman jailed for throwing rocks at deputy
A 37-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday for allegedly throwing rocks at a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy, according to a sheriff's office booking report.
Krystal Bruce was taken into custody at 9:40 a.m. and booked for suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon.
According to the report, a CCSO deputy was called to a gas station in the 2600 block of US-50 East for a welfare check. The deputy arrived and made contact with Bruce outside the store.
The woman said she needed to buy cigarettes but couldn't because she didn't have ID. The deputy informed her that he was unable to help her purchase cigarettes. As for the ID, the deputy advised she could go to the Ron Wood Center to have them assist her in getting a new ID. She became agitated with the deputy's response, the report states.
The store clerk advised they wanted CCSO to trespass the woman from the property. The woman was told to gather her things, in which she yelled at the officer, reached down and grabbed a small rock and threw it at the officer's direction, the report states.
She then grabbed a second small rock and threw it, causing the officer to flinch. The officer said he was going to give her another opportunity to stop and leave at which point she reached down, grabbed a rock, threw it, missing the officer but hitting the concrete, which bounced and hit a parked car in a parking space, the report states.
She was arrested for suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon. Bail: $20,000.
