Tonight: Carson City School Board to discuss policy changes, special revenue funds and more

The Carson City School Board meeting will take place tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 12 beginning at 7 p.m. inside the Robert Crowell Board Room at the Community Center.
Topics for discussion include special revenue funds, policy changes, and more.

Among the agenda items:
— An annual report will be given by the Carson City School District Family Life Committee.
— An annual review of the manner in which the statewide evaluation for teachers and administrators is carried out will be discussed.
— A discussion and possible action approving proposed changes to a policy related to working periods will be held, which will cover work breaks and meal periods for classified staff.
— A discussion will be held regarding proposed changes to a regulation regarding School Social Workers and School Mental Health Workers.
— A discussion will be held on proposed changes to a policy relating to Emergency Operations of Schools.
— A discussion and possible action will be held regarding a Special Revenue Fund, 206 PCFP English Learner Fund, as determined by the Nevada Department of Education, which establishes the Pupil-Centered Funding Plan, and requires that weighted funds received for English Language Learners be segregated into new special revenue fund.
— A discussion and possible action will be held to adopt a similar special revenue fund for PCFP Gifted and Talented Fund.
— A discussion and possible action will be held to adopt a final special revenue fund for PCFP At-Risk Fund for At-Risk Learners.
