UPDATE 5:15 p.m.: According to Captain Daniel Gonzales, an unknown substance was detected during a call for service that was originally set off by an alarm.
SET deputies and Carson City Fire, who are trained in Hazmat procedures, entered the residence with hazardous sensors.
The sensors did not pick up any immediate hazardous gasses; however, said Gonzales, the sensors test for a limited number of hazardous substances, and therefore, safety concerns have not been ruled out.
Carson City Fire was cleared from the scene, but the National Guard has arrived on scene to test the substance.
There are no reported injuries, but there were individuals involved with the residence.
More updates will follow as they become available.
