Carson City 2024 Jazz and Beyond Festival wraps up today with final concerts
The final performances are lined up today, Monday, that will close out the 2024 Jazz and Beyond Music Festival in downtown Carson City.
The 21st annual Jazz & Beyond Music Festival began August 16 and ends August 26 bringing 11 days of free entertainment featuring 30 performances.

Laurie Blue at Comma Courtyard
Monday, Aug. 26, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. - 312 S. Carson St.
Laurie Blue is a singer-songwriter rooted in the Northern Virginia music scene. She composes and records original music, hosts open mics, and performs an eclectic mix of original rock and classic covers on guitar and flute. Reno Video Game Symphony Jazz Ensemble at Comma Courtyard
Monday, Aug. 26, 4:00.-6:00 p.m., 312 S. Carson St.
The Reno Video Game Symphony is a nonprofit, educational band program that performs music from video games! The combo is a tight-knit group that brings a jazzy twist to video game music.
Closing Event: Mighty Mike Schermer and Friends at McFadden Plaza Stage
Monday., Aug. 26, 6:30-8:30 p.m. - 3rd & Curry Streets. Bring chairs.
Mighty Mike Schermer has toured and/or recorded with Bonnie Raitt, Elvin Bishop, Marcia Ball, and too many others to mention! His music is best described as a fun, danceable blend of blues, soul, cajun, zydeco, funk, and rock & roll. He has performed at festivals, theaters, and nightclubs in 25 countries and all 50 US States! This is his second appearance on the Jazz & Beyond Festival. Performers are: Mighty Mike Schermer - Guitar/Vocals, Joe McKenna - Bass, Kris Landrum - Keyboards, Frank Fletcher - Drums, Holly Siig - Saxophone, Gary Lynn Floyd - Vocals, and Warren Charles Jones - Percussion.
