Nevada State Parks 5th Grade Adventure Passes sent to schools, announces design challenge
Nevada Division of State Parks announced this week that 2024-2025 5th Grade Adventure Passes are now being shipped to school districts throughout Nevada. 5th graders across the state should expect to receive their free Adventure Pass in the next couple of weeks, just in time for the new school year.
This year marks the 8th anniversary of the 5th Grade Adventure Pass program, originally known as the Discovery Pass. The program, established under AB385 and effective since July 1, 2017, provides all Nevada 5th graders with a complimentary annual entrance pass to the state’s stunning parks and recreation areas. The pass was recently renamed to the "Adventure Pass" to inspire endless adventures and exploration throughout Nevada’s beautiful state parks.
The 2024 Adventure Pass is valid from July 2024 through August 2025, offering 5th graders and their families, or anyone traveling in the same vehicle, free entry to all 27 of Nevada’s state parks.
Introducing the Adventure Pass Design Challenge
In an exciting new addition to the program, Nevada State Parks is introducing the Adventure Pass Design Challenge. This initiative gives 5th graders the opportunity to design next year’s Adventure Pass. The winning design will be featured on the official 2025-2026 pass, and the young artist will receive a special copy of their creation, which they can use as a 6th grader next school year.
To submit an entry into the contest, parents and teachers can download the entry form here. Entries can be submitted either by email or by mail to Nevada State Parks no later than May 31, 2025. Go here for entry forms and information.
Please note that the 5th Grade Adventure Pass is not eligible for reservations and can only be used on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage families to plan their visits accordingly to make the most of this unique opportunity.
