Carson City Sheriff's Office investigates vehicle found in retention pond
Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies and fire department personnel are investigating how a car wound up Wednesday morning in a retention pond near Western Nevada College off of Foothill Road.
The car was discovered this morning at around 10 a.m. and called into dispatch. Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies said the vehicle appeared to be a Lincoln Continental with tinted windows and a sun roof. The unoccupied vehicle was in around 3 feet of water and leaking fuel into the pond.
Fire department personnel on scene were evaluating the slope of the hill to determine the best course of action to pull the vehicle out.
A tow truck company arrived on scene at 11:35 p.m. to pull the car out.
