Governor’s Office of Workforce Innovation names Lisa Levine as executive director
CARSON CITY — On Monday, the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation announced that Lisa Levine is now serving as Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Innovation.
Levine joins GOWINN to replace Isla Young, whose last day was July 22. As Executive Director, Young helped navigate GOWINN’s move to DETR, relaunched the Industry Sector Councils and successfully brought in over $16 million to the state for the SANDI and ANAA grants, which promote innovative workforce solutions. DETR is grateful for her service and leadership.
Levine brings more than a decade of leadership in business, government, and public affairs as a small business owner, gaming technology manufacturing professional, and congressional aide. Her relationships across Nevada, from her work in higher education while on the NSHE Board of Regents and UNLV Alumni Association, and in the business community serving on the Las Vegas Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee and Regional Air Service Corporation, will further strengthen collaborative partnerships in workforce development.
"I have had the pleasure of working with Lisa on the Vegas Chamber Government Affairs committee and found her to be insightful and a major contributor to the group. She brings extensive policy experience to GOWINN and I look forward to working closely with her, in meeting the needs of Nevada’s employers and employees.” says Hugh Anderson, Managing Director of Hightower Las Vegas.
Levine is a member of the Nevada Equal Rights Commission and Chair of the Women’s Research Institute of Nevada. Previously, she was appointed to the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents, the Nevada Legislative Statutory Committee on Industrial Programs representing manufacturing, and Clark County’s Animal Advisory Board.
