Man running with rifle up U.S. 50 Spooner in Carson City Sheriff's Office custody

Westbound Highway 50 was closed briefly at Spooner Junction early Sunday evening after a report of a man with a rifle running on the roadway. Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol arrested the man at gunpoint and recovered a rifle.
The highway reopened at around 5:50 p.m. Meanwhile, Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputies made a felony traffic shortly after detaining the man with the rifle. It is unknown at this time if the nearby traffic stop and the man with the rifle are related incidents.
The situation happened at around 5:30 p.m. after Carson City dispatch received multiple 911 calls of a man running up Spooner with a rifle in his hands and then running in the middle of the roadway with the rifle.
