Carson City deputies arrest man for second domestic battery
A 26-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning in the 500 block of North Carson Street for misdemeanor suspicion of second domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies was dispatched to a parking lot near a casino for a report of domestic battery.
Officers arrived and spoke with the suspect who was being argumentative and refused to follow instructions. Deputies detained the man and met with the victim. She said there was an argument, that she and the suspect were yelling at each other but said the confrontation was never physical, the report states.
Deputies spoke with a casino employee who was a witness. The employee observed the man grab the woman by the shoulders and push her into the back of an SUV, where the victim hit the rear with her head. Nugget security employees said they saw the man reach in the back of an SUV in an attempt to get to the woman. The man was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery, his second. Bail: $5,137.
In other arrests:
— A 48-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Saturday, 4:30 p.m. for a misdemeanor warrant for battery issued May 22 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 44-year-old Carson City woman was booked into jail Saturday on a misdemeanor warrant alleging that she passed a check without sufficient funds. The warrant was out of Reno Justice Court. The woman had been in jail and was set for release on another charge. A records checked before being released showed the Reno warrant. Bail: $500.
— A 30-year-old Gardnerville woman was arrested Saturday, 4:28 p.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street for misdemeanor suspicion of petit larceny and violation of bail conditions, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, the woman attempted to steal $30 worth of items from Walmart, passing all points of payment. She was detained by the store security.
Dispatch advised the woman was on Alternative Sentencing with an obey all laws clause. She was placed on hold for violation of conditions. Bail: $3,352.
— A 30-year-old Minden man was arrested Saturday, 9:47 p.m. in the area of Koontz and Edmonds for misdemeanor driving on a license revoked for DUI and speeding.
According to the arrest report, a deputy stopped a vehicle, where it was confirmed by radar going 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. The deputy met with the driver. Dispatch advised the driver’s license had been revoked for DUI. Bail: $1,249.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 12:25 p.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street for misdemeanor suspicion of petit larceny.
According to the arrest report, the man allegedly attempted to steal merchandise he had in his shopping cart. He told deputies his friend had the receipt. The friend advised he did not have the receipt and knew nothing about what the suspect had allegedly said he purchased. Bail: $352.
