NHP identifies Carson City man who died in Thursday morning crash at Lake Tahoe
The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a Carson City man who died in a vehicle crash that happened Thursday on Highway 50 at Lake Tahoe.
NHP identified Hugo Parra-Solis, 37, of Carson City, as the person who died in the June 13, 2019 crash that happened at approximately 7:06 a.m. in the area of Elks Point Road.
Carson Now readers have advised Hugo was married, was the father of three children and was on his way to work at Tahoe when he died in the crash. A Go Fund Me account has been established to help the family pay for funeral expenses.
A preliminary investigation shows that a white 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling eastbound on US-50 east of Elks Point Road.
The driver of the Ford F-150 allowed the vehicle to cross over the center median lines into oncoming traffic, striking a white 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck towing a utility trailer traveling westbound on US-50.
The Ford F-150 came to rest facing northwest blocking both westbound travel lanes.
The Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Hugo Parra-Solis, came to rest facing east in the right-hand lane of US-50 eastbound. The rear bed portion of the Chevrolet pickup separated from the front cab portion and the utility trailer was not connected to the vehicle.
Hugo Parra-Solis died on scene due to the injuries.
NHP had said that the survivor of the crash was taken into custody for suspicion of driving while impaired.
The driver of the F-150 has been identified as Jerrad Dominguez. He was booked into Douglas County Jail. Charges are pending.
