Carson City Planning Commission to discuss new trailhead, therapeutic horse riding academy, care facility and more
The Carson City Planning Commission meeting will be held Wednesday, April 24 in the Bob Crowell Board Room of the Carson City Community Center located at 851 E. William St. at 5 p.m.
The agenda includes trail improvements, a therapeutic horse riding academy, a care facility and more.
A special use permit has been requested for trailhead improvements on a new trail on property zoned Public Regional located approximately 1/3 mile west of the end of Koontz Lane. Improvements include access and drainage improvements, parking, a new vault toilet, and covered picnic tables. The trail will be 2.4 miles for non-motorized usage and will be unpaved. The trail will be located along the west side of Prison Hill and will connect three trailheads.
— A special use permit has been requested to establish a commercial stable and riding academy to be used as a therapeutic riding stable. The property is located at 2170 Alfred Way and is zoned single family residential 2 acre. The detached barn structure, if approved, will measure 3,702 square feet.
— A special use permit has been requested to create a congregate care facility within the Lompa Ranch north Specific Plan located near East William Street and Gold Dust Way. Mission Senior Living is proposing a 105,000 square foot congregate care facility on a 13.29 acre site. The area is zoned general commercial and a congregate care facility is allowed in the district with the approval of an SUP.
