Carson City arrests: Man with felony lewdness warrant jailed
A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday on a felony fugitive from justice warrant and suspected possession of methamphetamine, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Kyle Sullivan Bryan was arrested 4:36 p.m. in the 5900 block of Highway 50 East. According to the arrest report, a deputy responded to a pawn shop for a report of a man attempting to buy a gun in which he was flagged during a background check.
The arresting deputy arrived and spoke with the man, confirming his identity with a Nevada driver’s license. The deputy conducted a wants and warrant check through Carson City Dispatch, which advised of an outstanding arrest warrant out of Superior Court of California in El Dorado County.
The warrant alleges attempted lewd act upon a child, according to the arrest report. The bail amount was $100,000 bondable. He was arrested.
During the intake search the officer located a clear plastic baggie in an interior pocket of the man’s wallet. The officer asked what the substance was. The man replied "meth." It weighed less than .5 of a gram, the arrest report states. Bail: $102,500.
In other arrests:
— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 6:33 p.m. in the area of North Carson and West Sophia streets for a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant, issued Feb. 13, 2018 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 4:17 p.m. in the area of College Parkway and I-580 northbound for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued March 1, 2018 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 8:52 p.m. in the area of William and Plaza streets for a misdemeanor warrant issued Jan. 18, 2018 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 23-year-old Alabama man was arrested Sunday, 3:34 a.m. in the area of I-580 and Snyder Avenue for misdemeanor suspicion of reckless driving.
According to the booking report, a deputy responded at 2:51 a.m. to a call regarding a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, going southbound in the northbound travel lanes. The reporting party said they observed the vehicle near the intersection of College Parkway.
The deputy went to the intersection of Fairview and US I-580 and observed the vehicle still southbound in the northbound lanes, the report states.
The deputy paralleled the vehicle driving in the southbound lane and used his emergency lights and patrol vehicle spotlight to get the driver of the vehicle to slow it down and also to alert oncoming traffic of the wrong way vehicle, the arrest report states.
Other patrol units arrived as the vehicle slowed to approximately 30 mph. The vehicle finally stopped on the freeway at the Snyder Avenue overpass in the northbound lane, the arrest report states.
The officer made contact with the driver and had him exit the vehicle. The man performed a series of standardized field sobriety tests and did not show any signs or symptoms of impairment.
A preliminary breath test was administered with a result of .018. The deputy conducted a wants and warrant check on the man. Dispatch advised he had an outstanding extended order of protection. He was placed under arrest for suspicion of reckless driving. Bail: $637.
— A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 7:53 p.m. in the area of North Roop and Dan Street for misdemeanor suspicion of obstructing.
According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a vehicle driving over the center line northbound on North Stewart Street near the intersection of East Long. The officer got behind the vehicle and observed it cross the center line on North Stewart prior to North Roop Street.
The deputy activated his overhead lights and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. He met with the sole occupant who identified himself. He appeared nervous and handed the officer his license and insurance documents, according to the report.
The officer asked the man if he had any contraband in the vehicle. The man said no. He was asked to step out of the vehicle. The man said no and rolled up the driver side window and locked the doors, the arrest report states.
He did not hand the officer any registration for the vehicle. The deputy requested a cover unit. When the officer went to the passenger side of the vehicle he observed the man pick up his cell phone and began texting, according to the report. The deputy observed the man’s hands trembling as he texted.
When the cover unit arrived the man exited the vehicle, where he was placed into handcuffs and taken into custody for suspicion of obstructing. Bail: $412.
— A 41-year-old man was arrested Saturday, 11:24 a.m. in the 3400 block of South Carson Street for misdemeanor suspicion of being an ex-felon failing to register. Bail: $242. Meanwhile, a 35-year-old woman with him was arrested for misdemeanor suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.
The woman gave deputies consent to search the vehicle. Officers located a oval box, and inside the box were several hypodermic needles, a small round container with a substance inside, several cotton pieces, swabs, two glass pipes with black and white residue consistent with methamphetamine and a spoon, the report states.
During inventory of the vehicle, deputies located a butane lighter and homemade glass devise with a white crystal substance inside, a piece of tinfoil with black residue, all consistent with the use of methamphetamine. There were also three glass marijuana pipes, an entire container of cotton swabs, cotton balls and pads and a small container with several small baggies consistent with methamphetamine and possible sales, the report states. All items were taken into evidence and substances located were to be tested. Bail: $1,137.
— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 5:31 p.m. in the 2100 block of Lone Mountain for a misdemeanor violation of bail conditions warrant. Bail: $3,000.
— A 19-year-old California man was arrested Saturday, 3:05 p.m. in the 1500 block of Livermore Lane for misdemeanor suspicion of being a minor in possession of marijuana.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called Saturday at 12:55 p.m. for a report of a fight in progress involving 30 to 40 people in which chairs were allegedly being thrown.
A deputy met with two subjects who pointed out the suspect as an individual involved in the fight. The deputy asked the man if he was involved, the arrest report states. The man said everyone in the park was involved. The officer asked if they could search his person and backpack he was wearing.
The man said “yes, go ahead.” The deputy located a clear plastic bag containing approximately 22.3 grams of marijuana. The 19-year-old was placed under arrest for being a minor in possession of marijuana. Bail: $737.
