Boy saved from house fire
Carson City firefighters were called this morning to a fire at a residence near the corner of Selby and La Loma on the east side of Carson City.
Initial reports said there were people and pets inside the home. According to Carson City Fire Chief Bob Schreihans, they located a boy who was asleep in the home, and called out to him to wake him up and saved him from the fire. All the pets were accounted for as well. The fire was reported to dispatch at 9:49 a.m.
Traffic was being diverted around the areas of Siskiyou and Desatoya as firefighters continue to put water on hot spots. It appears the fire got into the roof area. The cause is under investigation.
