Lyon County Sheriff: Two jailed in multi-state stolen vehicle investigation
On Tuesday, April 9, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the 400 Block of Six Mile Canyon Road in Dayton to assist the Grass Valley Police Department in an active investigation involving a stolen travel trailer.
During the investigation a 2024 Forest River travel trailer was reported stolen with a value of $48,875. Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Deputies recovered the 2024 Forest River travel trailer in the area of Six Mile Canyon Road.
On the morning of Wednesday, April 10, 2024, detectives with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Special Investigations Unit conducted a felony vehicle stop on the suspect vehicle identified during the investigation.
As a result of the evidence collected during this investigation the following individuals were arrested:
35-year-old Dayton resident Justin McCorkle was arrested and booked into the Lyon County Jail for the following:
NRS 205.273 - Possession of a Stolen Vehicle over $3500
NRS 282.553 – Remove, Deface, Alter Identification Number
NRS 453.566 – Possession of drug Paraphernalia
Total Bail: $16,140.
Also arrested, 30-year-old Sun Valley, Nev., resident Nicole Sandau was booked into the Lyon County Jail for the following:
NRS 453.336 – Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I-IV
NRS 453.566 – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Total Bail: $3,140.
In addition, McCorkle is on active Parole and Probation for Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle and was subsequently arrested for a felony Parole and Probation violation.
