April snow dusts Carson City
A light dusting of snow fell overnight in Carson City as temperatures dropped near freezing in the middle of a low pressure weather system that brought more measurable precipitation to the area, including more snow accumulation at higher elevations.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno forecasts a 60 percent chance of precipitation Saturday with a rain and snow mix.
The daytime high is forecast to only reach 41 degrees Saturday.
Warmer, drier weather makes it return Sunday with daytime highs reaching into the fifties ahead of more rain showers forecast for Tuesday, the NWS reports.
Sunday morning's overnight low is expected to dip into the mid-20s in Carson City.
Highs next week are forecast for the upper fifties into the thirties near freezing again, the NWS said.
