Carson City arrests: Woman jailed for calling 911 dispatch multiple times without an emergency

A 37-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday for suspicion of misuse of calling 911, a gross misdemeanor offense.
According to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report, a deputy was dispatched to the courthouse after being advised by Carson City dispatch a woman had called the 911 emergency line to ask why her husband was not waiting for her at the courthouse.
Additionally, courthouse staff advised the woman to leave as they closed at 4 p.m. The woman would not leave the area so courthouse staff requested the woman be escorted off the property, according to the report.
A deputy arrived on scene and spoke with the woman who asked him where her husband was. The woman showed the officer text messages between she and her husband that showed her stating she was waiting for him at the courthouse. However he never stated he was going to meet with her, the arrest report states.
The deputy had previously advised the woman not to call 911 dispatch if there was not an emergency. At that time, the officer gave the woman his business card with the non-emergency dispatch number attached with the hopes of her again not calling 911 without an emergency.
Dispatch advised this was the fifth time in the last 10 days that the woman called 911 without an emergency. She was arrested for misuse of 911 at 4:06 p.m. Bail: $2,500.
In other arrests:
— A man was arrested Monday for misdemeanor suspicion of assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. According to a Carson City sheriff's booking report, a deputy was dispatched to a fast food restaurant on North Carson Street in reference to a subject creating a disturbance at a business.
The deputy learned the man was possibly someone he was familiar with who has been panhandling, yelling at cars, littering and being in the roadway, the report states. The deputy located the man in front of a casino, where he then went inside. The casino manager asked that the man be trespassed, in which the officer then asked him to leave, which he did.
The officer went to the fast food restaurant and met with the manager who stated the man had attempted to hit him while inside the business and that he had been coming around at night, harassing the female employees and has been disorderly and drunk. The officer asked if he wished to press charges, which he stated he did and filled out a citizen's arrest report.
The deputy made contact with the suspect and informed him he was going to jail. The man was cooperative and provided a preliminary breath test of .135. Bail: $1,231.
— A 50-year-old Reno woman, Charity Hart, was arrested Monday for a felony contempt of court, failure to appear warrant for her arrest out of First Judicial District Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A 29-year-old Minden man was arrested Monday for a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant. Bail: $3,000.
— A 40-year-old Stagecoach man was arrested Monday for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant (failure to appear) issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.
