Chains required on Highway 50, I-80, SR 88, SR 89 and more following Friday's storm

As of Saturday morning, there are several chain controls ordered throughout the sierra region following Friday's storm.
Check with https://tahoeroads.info/ for all updates throughout the weekend.
Highway 50
In the Sacramento Valley and the Lake Tahoe Basin
Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels from Twin Bridges to Meyers (El Dorado Co)
Please research chain control locations as Caltrans is currently working to update chain control descriptions for consistency with internet mapping, such as through Google Maps and Mapquest.
Interstate 80
In the Northern California Area and Sierra Nevada
FOR EASTBOUND TRAFFIC:
Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels from Kingvale (Placer Co) to the Donner Lake Interchange (Nevada Co).
Eastbound trucks are being screened at Applegate (Placer Co). Drivers must have maximum chains in their possession in order to proceed. Permit loads are prohibited.
FOR WESTBOUND TRAFFIC:
Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels from the Donner Lake Interchange (Nevada Co) to 4.7 miles west of Kingvale (Placer Co).
Westbound trucks are being screened 5 miles west of Reno at Mogul (Washoe Co)
- Drivers must have maximum chains in their possession in order to proceed
- Permit loads are prohibited
All westbound trucks are required to stop at the brake check area 0.5 miles west of Nyack (Placer Co) to reduce the risk of brake fires
SR 88
Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels from Ham's Station (Amador Co) to Picketts Junction (Alpine Co)
Chains or snow tires are required from Picketts Junction to 1 mile west of Woodfords (Alpine Co)
SR 89
Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels from Picketts Junction (Alpine Co) to 2.7 miles south of the Junction of US 50 (El Dorado Co) and Luther Pass.
Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels from 5 miles north of the Junction of Us 50 to Bliss State Park (El Dorado Co).
Chains or snow tires are required from Bliss State Park (El Dorado Co) to the Junction of I-80 (Nevada Co).
Chains or snow tires are required from Truckee (Nevada Co) to Sierraville (Sierra Co).
Chains or snow tires are required from the Junction of SR 70 to 1 mile north of Crescent Mills (Plumas Co).
Chains or snow tires are required from 3 miles north of Greenville to Canyon Dam (Plumas Co).
