Carson City arrests: Man accused of chasing woman in church parking lot with machete

A man was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly chasing a woman in a church parking lot with a machete, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Pierce Horseman, age not listed, was arrested at 7:47 p.m. following an investigation. He was also booked for a warrant alleging misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence. According to the booking report, deputies were called to the 400 block of Clear Creek Avenue in reference to a man with a knife chasing a woman.
Deputies investigated and learned the woman, wearing a dress and heels, escaped from the man in the parking lot of the church after observing him pull a large knife with a curved edge, the report states.
The victim said the man fell during the chase, and that she tripped and fell in the parking lot but was able to get inside the church and tell people inside what happened, the report states.
A search of the man began, where the suspect was stopped on a road to the west of the church. The man was detained. The man stated he had an active warrant out of Carson City Justice Court. Dispatch confirmed the warrant and he was arrested for the warrant.
Further investigation revealed the discovery, by tribal police, of a machete in a yard not far from where the man was located, according to the report. The victim identified the suspect. He was booked for the alleged crimes. Bail: $21,000.
In other arrests:
— A 45-year-old Glenbrook man, was arrested Wednesday by the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team for three felony drug related offenses including possession for sale and misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Justin Douglas Snyder was taken into custody at 8:18 p.m. in the area of Koontz and Silver Sage following an investigation.
According to the booking report, a SET deputy observed a vehicle crossing over a solid white turn lane line and turn abruptly onto Koontz Lane, making an improper turn. The officer conducted a traffic stop and the driver was contacted. Dispatch alerted the man had a confirmed warrant for failure to comply with a $1,000 cash only bail. He was placed under arrest.
During a search of the man, an officer located a clear zip bag with methamphetamine inside. A K9 exterior drug sniff of the vehicle was done and the K9, Cash, alerted positive to the vehicle. The vehicle was searched. Officers located a gray plastic bindle with methamphetamine in the passenger door where the man was sitting and a bag on the passenger floorboard. Inside a box contained the following: A clear cup with methamphetamine, two clear zip bags with methamphetamine, three glass tubes and a clear plastic bindle with 23 Alprazolam pills, another pill bottle with 19 Alprazolam pills, not belonging to the man.
He was booked for the warrant, possession of a controlled substance for sale due to the individually bagged methamphetamine and pills, two counts possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $5,000 bondable, $1,000 cash only.
— A 43-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of possession of gross misdemeanor dangerous drug without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 39-year-old Carson City woman as arrested Wednesday for suspicion of DUI, open container and speeding.
According to the booking report, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle going 49 mph in a 35-mph zone. The officer activated their lights and got behind the vehicle, which had changed lanes from the number two to the number one lane. The vehicle took a long time to pull over and finally stopped, the report states.
The deputy made contact with the driver and observed the woman's speech was thick and slurred, her eyes watery and the officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from her person. The officer asked if she had anything to drink.
She stated she had not and later stated she had been drinking and had "two vodka drinks" and a Liquid Death energy drink. She stated she was not intoxicated. She agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment, the report states.
She refused to blow into a preliminary breath tests. She consented to a blood draw at jail. Officers located two small 99 vodka bottles in the vehicle's car door. One of the containers still contained alcohol in it and it was open. She was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI, open container and basic speeding, 11-15 mph. Bail: $1,137.
