Carson City sheriff's deputies make weekend arrests for excessive speeding, DUI and drugs

A 32-year-old man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of reckless driving, no valid driver's license, unsafe lane change and speeding 31-plus mph over the speed limit, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
At around 4:15 p.m. a deputy assigned to the CCSO Special Enforcement Team was driving their unmarked vehicle and observed a motorcycle accelerate to a high rate of speed on Fairview Drive from Highway 50 East.
The officer caught up to the rider and observed him moving to the number two lane without using his left turn signal. While doing this he cut off a vehicle and continued accelerating at a high rate of speed, the report states. The officer observed the motorcycle then split between two more vehicles and took off toward Pheasant Drive.
The light at Fairview and Pheasant Drive was red and the man stopped. The officer stopped at the light and had one vehicle in front of them, which was behind the motorcycle rider. The light turned green and the rider took off at a high rate of speed again. The posted speed limited in the area is 35 mph.
The officer passed the vehicle in front of them to catch up with the rider. The officer observed their speedometer was 56 mph while still accelerating. The man pulled away, with an estimate speed of 70 mph to 75 mph. The officer activated their overhead emergency lights and stopped the man before the 5th Street roundabout.
The officer observed the man was wearing an outlaw motorcycle gang prospect cut and made contact with the man and informed him why he was stopped. The officer saw a large knife in his right pocket. The officer told the man they would take his knife for their safety during the stop. He was asked if he had any other weapons and he stated he had another knife on him. The officer located three more knives on his person, the report states.
The man's name was run through dispatch, which advised he had a license allowing for driving an automobile but did not have a Class M endorsement to be able to drive a motorcycle. The man stated he was in the process of getting his class M, the report states.
Due to the man's driving with alleged willful or wanton disregard to public safety, cutting vehicles off, driving at an extreme rate of speed (double the speed limit) and not having a Class M license, he was arrested. Bail: $750.
In other arrests:
— A 33-year-old woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of DUI, driving with a suspended license and registration, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
On Sunday at around 1:30 a.m. a deputy observed a female driving north on Fall at the intersection of Robinson Street. The driver was observed using her cell phone while driving.
The deputy got behind the vehicle and could see that the license plate light was not functioning well. The deputy followed the vehicle, south on Stewart Street and then west on Telegraph Street. The officer activated their emergency lights where a traffic stop was made in the parking lot of a casino.
The deputy made contact with the woman who identified herself. Dispatch advised the registration on the vehicle was suspended. The officer could smell alcohol emanating from her person and that her speech was slurred and her eyes were red and watery. When the woman opened her bag to retrieve her license, the officer could see what appeared to be a small container of alcohol in the bag, according to the report.
The woman advised she did not have her license on her and that she may have left it at a bar. She provided information that was run through dispatch for a records check. Dispatch advised she had a suspended license.
The woman refused to submit to a standardized field sobriety test. She was read the request for evidentiary testing. She advised she understood and stated she wanted to speak to an attorney. She was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI on the totality of the observations and circumstances.
At jail the woman advised the officer that she would like to submit to voluntary evidentiary testing. The officer advised she could submit for a blood draw or provide a breath test. She stated that she would like to provide a breath test. She submitted to a breath test with results of .111 and .112. Bail: $1,137.
— A 50-year-old woman was arrested early Monday for suspicion of misdemeanor probation violation. According to the booking report, at 4:33 a.m. deputies were called to a North Carson Street casino regarding a woman intoxicated and acting in a distressed manner.
Deputies arrived and made contact with the woman, who immediately advised she had been drinking and that she was having a bad day. Dispatch advised she was currently on supervision with the Department of Alternative Sentencing with conditions of not consuming or possession of alcohol. She provided a partial preliminary breath test with a result of .152. She stated she had consumed approximately 5 alcoholic beverage. She stated she wanted to go to jail because she has nowhere else to live. Bail: $3,000 cash for the DAS violation.
— A 26-year-old man, Brian Steven Sandoval, was arrested Sunday, 7:22 a.m. for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (suspected cocaine) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 39-year-old woman was arrested early Monday for misdemeanor warrants alleging violation of a suspended sentence and violation of bail conditions. Bail: $2,000 cash.
— A 46-year-old woman, Sheila Wilson, was arrested Saturday for a Department of Alternative Sentencing violation and suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A Carson City man was arrested Saturday for parole and probation violation and destruction of property after allegedly breaking the window of a residence in which the reporting party and suspect had a child in common.
Deputies responded to an address for a report of a man breaking the reporting party's window. Deputies arrived and found the window shattered and broken glass and a rock on the kitchen table.
A search of the suspect began with a male matching the description attempting to open a vehicle door at a nearby street. There wasn't damage to the vehicle, the report states.
A deputy located the man in the 1700 block of Russell Way. He was read his Miranda rights. Dispatch advised he was on active parole and probation. DAS requested he be arrested. No bail hold in lieu of a hearing.
— A 51-year-old Carson City man, Gene Jay Revels III, was arrested Friday for felony warrant for allegedly uttering or possessing with intent to utter a fictitious bill, note or check. The warrant was issued Jan. 27, 2024 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,500.
