Public comment period opens Jan. 18 for Nevada Organics, LLC air permit at Carson City facility
Nevada Organics, LLC Compost Processing Facility is located at 1721 Snyder Avenue in Carson City. The project is located in all or portions of Sections 3, 4, 8, 9, and 10, Township 14N, Range 20E, M.D.B.&M.
The NV Organics operation currently functions as a composting and processing facility inclusive of material size reduction, screening, drying, packing, and loading, according to a news release from Nevada Division of Environmental Protection.
"On the basis of the preliminary review and the requirements of the NRS, the NAC and the Clean Air Act, the Director is hereby announcing his intent to issue the proposed Class II Air Quality Operating Permit based on a review of the information submitted," according to the public notice. The public comment period is from Jan. 18, 2022, through Feb. 17, 2022.
The BAPC has reviewed the application and has made a preliminary determination to issue a new permit for the compost processing facility, according to a news release.
The proposed project will not cause or contribute to a violation of any federal or State of Nevada air quality standards, the release states.
