Carson City Sheriff’s Office receives Country Financial Operation Helping Heroes award
Country Financial is pleased to announce the Carson City Sheriff’s Office as a recipient of a Country Financial Operation Helping Heroes award. Country Financial representative Jim Gray recently recognized the Sheriff’s Office with the award and presented a donation to support the office’s new K-9 program in 2024.
“Country Financial has long been a leading advocate for the health, safety, and welfare of the Carson City Sheriff's Office K-9 program, including an organizational goal of attaining the fullest K-9 staffing levels of eight dogs providing full shift and specialty saturation,” said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. “Working toward this goal, the Sheriff's Office has a vision of providing work specific K-9s throughout the working week and around the clock for shifts, a dedicated K-9 for counter-narcotics operations, and a child friendly K-9 to operate in the schools’ environment of K-12. Each of the K-9s possesses specialty training in areas of use that benefit the community in response, detection, tracking, and community engagement. In 2024, we hope to bring on the final K-9 that will round the departments unit up to 100 percent capacity.”
A program from Country Financial called Operation Helping Heroes helped make this possible. Through the program, Country Financial representatives can identify heroes in their communities and do something personally to give back.
“We’re thankful for everything the Sheriff’s Office does for our community,” said Gray. “Recognizing them through Operation Helping Heroes is just small gesture but it’s a way to say thank you for everything you do and provide support to important programs where we can.”
Country Financial has donated more than $5 million since 2020 to organizations and programs that support teachers, first responders, active-duty service members and veterans, supporting the company’s vision to “enrich lives in the communities we serve.” The Operation Helping Heroes program was created in 2015 to support non-profit events and programs that benefit active-duty service members, veterans and their families. Later, the program expanded to include first responders and teachers.
Country Financial serves about one million households and businesses throughout the United States and offers a full range of financial products and services from auto, home, business, farm and life insurance to retirement planning services, investment management and annuities.
