Carson Tahoe Health Dayton Medical Center offering COVID-19 vaccine

Still in need of the COVID-19 vaccine? There is now an additional location to get your shot. Our Dayton site (901 Medical Center Dr.) is now offering the Pfizer vaccine for ages 5 and older. You can get either your initial shot, or the booster. Walk-ins are welcome, but you can also sign-up through your MyChart account.

As a reminder, our Dayton location hours are Monday-Thursday from 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM (closed from 12 PM – 1 PM for lunch).

You can also still get your initial or booster COVID-19 vaccine (Moderna and Johnson & Johnson) for ages 18 years and older at our Eagle Medical Center (2874 N. Carson St.). You can schedule an appointment through your MyChart account or by emailing covidvaccine@carsontahoe.org. Walk-ins are welcomed Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

It is time to gather up the family and gear and head to your favorite recreation spot. Memorial Day weekend is the kick off for the summer, and traditionally it is a very busy weekend on the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Forest visitors can enjoy biking, camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, picnicking and many more recreations activities this summer.

The National Weather Service in Reno has changed the forecast in reference to flooding on the Walker River. The River is now forecasted to reach a peak of approximately 2,500 CFS (cubic feet per second) by Friday instead of the earlier forecast of 3,370.

Beginning Monday, Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District, California State Parks, and the U.S. Forest Service may continue prescribed fire operations. UPDATE 9:33PM: Air traffic into and out of the Carson City Airport has been suspended at least until midnight for the investigation, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Friday night to an airplane crash at the Carson City Airport.

UPDATE: 10:58PM: NHP reports via Twitter that the driver suffered a minor injury and was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

Carson City firefighters and Nevada Highway Patrol were called Friday night to the area of I-580 near Bellevue Road for a rollover crash in which the vehicle wound up in Washoe Lake, according to responders arriving on scene.

Because of recent storms and flood events, several parks, trails and open spaces throughout Carson City have sustained significant damage, including Baily Pond at Fuji Park.
