Kiwanis of Sierra Nevada present check to Students in Transition
Kiwanis of Sierra Nevada President Jose Ramirez presents Hannah Etchison Special Projects Coordinator of McKinney-Vento act Students in Transition a check for $1,000.
Funds are used to help local school children that may be experiencing some level of homelessness by providing clothing and personal items. It allows children to attend classes and participate in all school activities, even if they do not have school supplies or uniforms.
In addition to helping homeless students, special needs students receive additional services available through the McKinney-Vento Act.
