CHS Homecoming Week 2014 wrap-up
Homecoming week 2014 at Carson High School said its last goodbye late last Saturday night. The week included bonfires, dances, football, royalty, flash mobs and just about everything in between.
Each day of the week (Tuesday through Saturday) held a very wide variety of new and exciting things to do. The main goal of the week is to engage students to get involved with the school and raise money for the senior class and it did just that. The dance itself sold 472 tickets which at variety of prices brought in $3,288. Those funds will be transported to the class account of 2015 to be used primarily for prom.
"I thought the week was a huge success because we got a bunch of different groups and cliques of students to participate in all of the activities," said Master of Ceremonies Sarah Christl. "My favorite part of the week was when my dad got to walk me down the football field because it was really cool that he, as well as some of the other parents, were able to be involved in the activities as well." Christl also stated that the most successful event was, "a toss up. Wednesday Night Live, the game and the dance really just made the 'trifecta' of events."
The Student Council, which put on these events, noted as a whole that it was very exhausting yet gratifying to see all of the student involvement and hard work pay off. Carson High School's next big task at hand will be Winterfest week that will take place early in the second semester and will feature similar events as Homecoming week.
